Nissan Inventory

“How might we help Nissan costumers buy their dream car online”

Over my two years at Publicis Sapient, I had the opportunity to work as a UX designer for the Nissan account. In this role, I immersed myself with Nissan’s design system and closely collaborated with a diverse team of professionals to contribute in the development of content strategy and visual design for the Nissan website.

In response to the rapid growth and evolution of the eCommerce automotive industry, Nissan entrusted me and a team of five designers with a challenging brief:

“to develop an online vehicle Inventory and overhaul Nissan's online buying experience.”

The Project Goals

  • Increase the number of vehicle online sales

  • Design a seamless online buying experience for Nissan’s costumers

  • Capture the essence of timeless and modern Japanese design

The Process

I made a significant contribution during the final two phases of the design process – "develop" and "deliver." my responsibility involved:

  1. Utilising Nissan's design system, I translated wireframes into a high-fidelity prototype.

  2. I facilitated workshops with stakeholders from various countries, gathering valuable feedback to refine the design according to the specific needs of each region.

"How Might We" Design Sprint

Upon reviewing the research conducted by my team to gain a confident understanding of the problem landscape and user needs, I initiated a Design Sprint. This enabled my team to organise our thoughts and refine goals for the project so we can contribute to the vision of what we wanted to create.

The Vehicle Card

A fundamental element of the digital sales experience was inevitably centered on how users interpreted and engaged with the specific details of the vehicles that piqued their interest. So I decided to start with designing the vehicle cards early on. Additionally, having the vehicle cards done would enable me to determine the overall page layout structure, considering factors such as card size and spacing.

After, a lot of variations and experimentation I came up with the following design for the vehicle card

After a lot of variations and experimentation I came up with the following design for the vehicle card. Hierarchy of information was taking into consideration for the design of this card.

Making Searching Simple

After determining the best approach for presenting vehicles and their details, I was ready to design a search method for accessing this information.

The objective was:

  • Maintain simplicity while ensuring a harmonious interplay between budget, price, and vehicle specifications.

  • Make it easy for the user to utilize the filtering options and search for vehicles based on multiple selection criteria

Vehicle Details

The details page should display clearly all the information the user might want to know about a certain vehicle.

Finance Calculator

The finance calculator shows payment alternatives for customers who don’t want to pay the full price upfront when purchasing a vehicle. Typically, the process involves an initial deposit, followed by monthly payments, including interest, spread out over a predetermined period.

The focus was to:

  • Clearly showcase all the payment options the customers has

  • Make it simple for the user to calculate the monthly and total price (after interest) of the vehicle
